Potter’s Home

The Potter’s Home is a spacious and charming 120 sqm apartment in the heart of Vasto’s historic center, the jewel of the Costa dei Trabocchi on the Adriatic coast of southern Abruzzo.

The house takes its name from the fact that, at the beginning of the last century, it belonged to a potter, Mastro Cicco, who had his workshop on the ground floor while his family lived upstairs. At the entrance, a large ceramic jar recalls the history of these walls.

The building itself is much older. It is located in the area known as the “Spanish Expansion,” developed from the 17th century following the layout of Roman Vasto. Corso Dante was exactly the decumanus maximus of Histonium (the ancient name of Vasto), and the house’s walls rest on the foundations of ancient Roman insulae.

The apartment is independent and has been fully renovated. On the ground floor, there is a large entrance, a small sitting room with a fireplace, and a living area with a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen.

On the first floor, there are two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is particularly large and characteristic.

Due to its features and generous size, it is the ideal solution for an extended family or groups of 4 to 8 people.

Beds

In addition to the double beds in the two bedrooms, it is possible to add two extra beds in each room, and, if needed, also in the living area.

Climate

The house remains pleasantly cool thanks to its brick ceilings and architectural design, making air conditioning unnecessary.
